Description: 

The stock Ford Model A engine mounts were lackluster back when Henry made them, with a only single center spring mounting point to the front of the chassis and a rigid middle mount at the sides of the transmission that transferred all the vibration of the drivetrain directly to the chassis itself.

Old Yankee has addressed this problem by designing a two part front mounting system that will use the stock front engine mount bolt location, a saddle type bracket, and added two new mounting locations with rubber vibration dampening biscuits to the sides of the chassis using the stock Model A friction shock mounting location.

Then the middle transmission mount is a two part hanging mounting system that utilizes the stock bolt locations, rubber vibration dampening biscuits, vibration dampening frame pads along larger diameter frame hardware to take up any slop. 

Lastly, the transmission mount is borrowed from the Old Yankee Speed AV8 conversion system, designed to work with Early Ford top loader transmissions from 1932 to 1939. It has vibration dampening biscuits, and three reinforcement plates designed to beef-up that original Model A crossmember. 

The mounts are made from 3/16" and 1/4" mild steel, precision bent and tig welded. Increasing both strength and durability all while reducing vibration. 

These mounts are available as a kit as you see here or individually on their own. They can be purchased with or without the stock Model A friction shock plates or the optional 32-39 V8 transmission mount upgrade. 

This kit is a bolt on solution, using stock location frame and engine mounting holes. And the best part is that the front side mounts and transmission mount can be reused in the future if you decide to upgrade to a flathead V8 in the future.

PLEASE NOTE: While the front mount will work with Model B engines, the middle mounts will not.

If using the stock Model A friction shocks with your application, or the Model A chassis is thin, we recommend choosing the option with the OYS shock support plates (PN# OYS-SMP8) for added strength. These shock plates are available for addition cost in the product selection drop downs.

Please allow for 3-5 days on welding these together, 1-2 weeks if you get the transmission mount. If using a 32-35 transmission, please make a note on your order so that we include the proper hardware.

Requirements for using the kit transmission mount:

• Narrow 1942-1948 3 Speed stock transmission mount (we often have these available for an additional cost, please call to find out)
• Model A or B intermediate housing and bell housing adapter to a Ford 3 Speed V8 transmission. Both options will require the use of a narrow transmission mount mentioned above.
