The build

Eric came to us with a 1933 Ford model 40 tudor that was pulled from a field. The chassis was in rough condition but the body is surprisingly good condition. The customer decided he wanted an aftermarket chassis and components to handle the 1967 396 chevy that he had from a previous project. Eric had two guidelines to work within, he wanted equipment strong enough to handle/have fun with the BBC, the second was safety/drivability as a family hot rod.

Engine & Drivetrain

1967 396 big block chevy rebuilt and mated to a rebuilt muncie M20 trans using a stock bellhousing and clutch setup. All connect to a Johns 9” factory 9” ford rear, 3.25:1 geared truetrac posi, with 31 spline axles and 11” drum brakes.

Body & Interior

The body will be chopped 3.5 inches and channeled 1.5”, interior is TBD.

Chassis & Suspension

The chassis is boxed JW rod garage rails w/tubular x member, model a front crossmember holding a pete and jakes dropped axle front suspension with hairpins. The 9” is held in place with P&J ladder bars and coil overs.
